Engineer/Senior Engineer/Staff Engineer - Mechanical Engineering VC Summer SC

Dominion Energy seeks a Mechanical Engineer (Engineer, Senior Engineer, or Staff Engineer level) to design, modify, and maintain nuclear power plant systems, structures, and components at VC Summer Nuclear Station, a two-unit PWR facility. The role spans mid-level to expert complexity depending on candidate experience. Position includes membership in the plant's Emergency Response Organization with a 30–60 minute callout requirement.

Design and modify nuclear power plant systems, structures, and components while maintaining plant design and licensing bases. Perform and/or review engineering calculations, analysis, research, and design using applicable software and standard engineering techniques. Provide cost analysis and develop recommendations for management review. Exercise independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying engineering approaches to moderately complex adaptations and modifications. Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), responding to plant activities within 30–60 minutes. Perform other duties as assigned.

For Engineer level: 2+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience. For Senior Engineer level: 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience. For Staff Engineer level: 8+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience (PhD in Engineering can substitute for up to 5 years). Knowledge and application of engineering theories, principles, concepts, and fundamentals. Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software (Matlab, Excel). Understanding and application of configuration management. Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practices. Effective oral and written communication skills, including technical writing. Analytical thinking and complex problem-solving ability. Ability to work independently or effectively in team environments.

Experience with large rotating equipment, piping systems, heat exchangers, pressure systems, and pumps. Leadership and team project lead experience (for Senior/Staff levels). Advanced technical skills and expertise in assigned engineering area.
