About this role
Dominion Energy's VC Summer Nuclear Station seeks an Electrical Engineer (Engineer to Staff level based on experience) to design, analyze, and modify electrical systems within a nuclear power generating station. This role supports plant electrical distribution, instrumentation, control interfaces, protective relaying, and safety-related equipment while maintaining design basis documentation and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and modify electrical systems within the nuclear power generating station
- Support plant electrical distribution systems, instrumentation and control interfaces, and protective relaying
- Manage performance and reliability of safety-related and balance-of-plant electrical equipment
- Maintain design basis documentation and support plant licensing and regulatory compliance
- Perform and/or review engineering calculations, analysis, research and design
- Provide cost analysis and develop recommendations for equipment upgrades
- Exercise independent judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and procedures
- May serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), responding to plant activities in 30-60 minutes
Preferred qualifications
- Military service background (E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6 equivalent with appropriate education and experience)
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
- Nuclear power plant experience
- Experience with configuration management
- Project management and leadership experience
Location, schedule, and travel
VC Summer Nuclear Station, South Carolina; onsite position; may require emergency response availability with 30-60 minute response time.
