Engineer/Senior Engineer/Staff Engineer - Electrical Engineering VC Summer SC
About this role
Dominion Energy's VC Summer Nuclear Station seeks an Electrical Engineer (Engineer to Staff level based on experience) to design, analyze, and modify electrical systems within a nuclear power generating station. This role supports plant electrical distribution, instrumentation, control interfaces, protective relaying, and safety-related equipment while maintaining design basis documentation and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- —Design, analyze, and modify electrical systems within the nuclear power generating station
- —Support plant electrical distribution systems, instrumentation and control interfaces, and protective relaying
- —Manage performance and reliability of safety-related and balance-of-plant electrical equipment
- —Maintain design basis documentation and support plant licensing and regulatory compliance
- —Perform and/or review engineering calculations, analysis, research and design
- —Provide cost analysis and develop recommendations for equipment upgrades
- —Exercise independent judgment in evaluating, selecting and applying engineering techniques and procedures
- —May serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO), responding to plant activities in 30-60 minutes
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- —Knowledge and application of engineering theories, principles, concepts, and fundamentals
- —Ability to perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Matlab, Excel)
- —Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices
- —Effective oral and written communication skills including technical writing
- —Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
- —Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Desired
- —Military service background (E5-E9, W1-CW5, or O3-O6 equivalent with appropriate education and experience)
- —Professional Engineering (PE) license
- —Nuclear power plant experience
- —Experience with configuration management
- —Project management and leadership experience
Location
VC Summer Nuclear Station, South Carolina; onsite position; may require emergency response availability with 30-60 minute response time.
