Engineering, Sr Manager
About this role
Senior Manager of Engineering at Constellation, the nation's largest clean energy producer and operator of the largest U.S. nuclear fleet. Lead the engineering function across nuclear generating stations, managing engineering personnel and technical programs while ensuring regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and fleet-wide standardization.
Responsibilities
- —Provide management, governance, and oversight of the engineering function across the nuclear fleet
- —Manage performance and development of assigned engineering personnel aligned with corporate objectives
- —Participate in Business Planning, Budget, and Business Performance reviews for site and Constellation Nuclear
- —Fulfill managerial responsibilities for assigned staff including employment, development, compensation, and performance evaluation
- —Ensure consistent and effective workforce practices through assigned supervisors and functions
- —Provide engineering and technical leadership on short-term and long-term programs impacting fleet operations
- —Participate as senior resource in nuclear-wide programs and initiatives for standardized engineering systems and processes
- —Support emergency response, departmental coverage, and outage activities as directed
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) or related science, OR Active/Inactive Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license
- —10 years of overall related experience
- —Supervisory or managerial experience
- —Ability to maintain minimum access requirements or unescorted access, and pass favorable medical examination as applicable
Desired
- —Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
- —Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- —Prior experience in Nuclear Power or Mission Critical environments
- —10+ years of high-voltage experience, preferably leading behind-the-meter (BTM) or colocation projects interfacing with generating assets
- —Expertise in power flow and transient stability studies for nuclear unit protection
- —Experience navigating Nuclear (10 CFR 50.59) and Grid (NERC/FERC) compliance
- —Experience with ETAP or equivalent nuclear-grade modeling software
- —Familiarity with SEL relay logic and RTAC automation controllers
- —Experience with SEL Synchrowave for relay behavior diagnosis and fault data analysis
