Engineer, Sr Staff Fuels / Project Manager
About this role
Senior Staff Engineer and Project Manager at Constellation's Clean Energy Center, providing advanced nuclear fuels technical expertise and overseeing nuclear fuels engineering activities. This role combines individual contributor responsibilities for complex nuclear engineering problems with supervisory and project management duties for the Nuclear Fuels department. You will drive technical decisions on safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance while managing personnel and budgets.
Responsibilities
- —Perform advanced nuclear engineering analyses and independent technical reviews for regulatory and operational projects
- —Develop and manage nuclear engineering activities supporting safety, reliability, maintainability, and system availability
- —Identify and resolve equipment/system problems through technical expertise; manage engineering issues from identification through resolution
- —Verify all engineering products comply with safety analyses, industry codes (ASME, IEEE), and NRC regulatory requirements
- —Support design modifications, testing activities, and outage problem-solving for CEC operations
- —Recommend improvements to performance, cost reduction, and regulatory compliance strategies
- —Supervise Nuclear Fuels personnel; manage budgets, planning goals, and personnel development
- —Perform emergency response duties and outage support as assigned
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering
- —10+ years of nuclear industry or related engineering experience
- —Demonstrated technical leadership (e.g., duty team lead, inspection lead roles)
- —Ability to obtain/maintain unescorted access and pass favorable medical examination
Desired
- —Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- —Design Engineering Qualifications (DG01, DG03)
- —Qualified Nuclear Engineer (QNE) qualification
- —Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) certification
