Engineer, Sr Safety Analysis
About this role
Senior Safety Analysis Engineer at Constellation's Clean Energy Centers. Lead-level role performing advanced nuclear safety analysis, engineering studies, and regulatory compliance work. Responsible for in-depth technical expertise in safety analysis methodologies, industry codes, and NRC licensing support for PWR operations.
Responsibilities
- —Develop, manage, and implement engineering analysis activities and programs with in-depth technical expertise
- —Identify and resolve equipment and system problems through technical consultation and problem-solving
- —Manage engineering issues; ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work products
- —Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses supporting technical projects
- —Ensure configuration management and adherence to design criteria, codes, practices, and procedures
- —Recommend new concepts and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, and ensure regulatory compliance
- —Support emergency response, departmental coverage, outage activities, and on-call duties
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, or Nuclear)
- —5+ years of nuclear or related engineering experience
- —Maintain minimum or unescorted access requirements as applicable
- —Pass medical examination/testing per position duties
Desired
- —Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
- —Advanced degree or related coursework
- —Qualified Nuclear Engineer (QNE) Qualification
- —Safety Analysis experience
- —Knowledge of PWR Safety Analysis including initiating events and mitigating systems
- —Experience supporting NRC licensing activities (LARs and 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations)
- —Familiarity with modern Criticality codes and methodology per RG 1.240
