Engineer, Risk Assessment
About this role
Risk Assessment Engineer supporting nuclear plant operations at Constellation Energy, the nation's largest clean energy producer. This role performs probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) and engineering analysis to support safety compliance, regulatory requirements, and operational decision-making across nuclear facilities. Available at Entry, Mid-level (E02), or Senior (E03) engineer levels.
Responsibilities
- —Perform probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) engineering and technical analysis applying industry-standard methodologies and nuclear engineering principles
- —Ensure all engineering products comply with applicable safety analyses, industry codes (ASME, IEEE), engineering specifications, and NRC regulatory requirements
- —Develop and implement PRA models, risk-informed applications, and process improvements to support operational and maintenance decisions
- —Recommend format and methodology improvements to risk assessment standard processes and procedures
- —Participate in emergency response, outage support, and departmental on-call coverage as directed by management
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear)
- —2+ years of nuclear or related engineering experience (Mid-level E02) or 5+ years (Senior E03)
- —Maintain NRC unescorted access or meet site access requirements
- —Favorable medical examination and clearance in accordance with position duties
Desired
- —2+ years of PRA (Probabilistic Risk Assessment) experience including model development and risk-informed applications
- —NRC or industry PRA certification or equivalent demonstrated expertise
