About this role

Manage the Reactor Engineering function at one or more of Constellation's nuclear facilities. Lead reactor engineering teams, oversee fuel cycle management and refueling operations, and provide technical leadership on reactivity management while maintaining operational excellence, safety, and NRC regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Reactor Engineering resources and personnel across assigned nuclear facilities to balance operational excellence, safety, cost, and regulatory requirements
  • Direct performance and development of assigned Reactor Engineering staff relative to site and corporate objectives
  • Provide engineering and technical leadership for short-term and long-term reactor engineering programs impacting facility operations
  • Serve as senior expert for reactivity management and nuclear fuel cycle, including reload core design implementation and cycle management
  • Manage development of fuel and special nuclear material moves, including refueling outage planning and oversight
  • Ensure functional area support for business plan initiatives and participate in Business Planning and Budget reviews
  • Interface with Corporate Operations and Nuclear Fuels on functional area Business Initiatives
  • Participate as senior resource for Constellation-wide programs on Reactivity Management and Operational Excellence

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) or related science
  • 5 years of related experience with commercial or military nuclear power plants or utility operations
  • Meet requirements outlined in ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 Standard for Selection, Qualification, and Training of Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants
  • Maintain minimum unescorted access requirements and pass favorable medical examination per position duties
  • Obtain Qualified Nuclear Engineering (QNE) certification within 24 months of assuming position

Desired

  • Nuclear Engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer (PE) designation
  • Current Qualified Nuclear Engineering (QNE) or Senior Reactor Operator certification/license
  • Multi-site experience
  • Advanced technical degree or Master of Business Administration
  • Supervisory or managerial experience

Location

Onsite at one or more of Constellation's nuclear clean energy centers; duties may include emergency response and outage support activities outside standard department functions.
