Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or related physical science discipline, or equivalent work experience at engineer/technical specialist level. Experience requirements vary by level: Engineer I/Tech Specialist I (0–2 years), Engineer II/Tech Specialist II (2–3 years), Engineer III/Tech Specialist III (4–5 years), Senior Engineer/Tech Specialist IV (6–8 years), or Senior Lead Engineer (8+ years) of nuclear design, operations, or equivalent experience. Proficiency in PC applications, engineering tools, and analytical systems appropriate to engineering level.
About this role
System Engineer providing technical support for nuclear plant systems, components, and programs at Entergy. Resolves plant issues, maintains configuration control, and serves as key interface between Engineering and station departments. Position available at Engineer I through Senior Lead Engineer levels based on experience (0–8+ years).
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve plant issues, including those from significant events and complex technical challenges
- Provide technical support to Maintenance and Operations for troubleshooting equipment, systems, and emergent conditions
- Develop and issue engineering changes, including design modifications and temporary alterations
- Maintain Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualifications and perform associated duties
- Provide technical information and guidance related to program bases, performance requirements, and compliance status
- Conduct condition-based monitoring of equipment and optimize preventative maintenance activities
- Plan, prioritize, and support project lifecycle activities, including corrective action plans and improvement initiatives
- Prepare engineering products in accordance with established standards, procedures, and quality expectations
- Support changes in system and component configuration, design, and design basis
- Serve on outage engineering support teams for online and refueling outages
- Monitor system performance through trending, field walkdowns, and deficiency identification
- Perform failure evaluations and support or lead root cause analyses
- Ensure lessons learned from fleet operating experience are incorporated into site programs
- Maintain required qualifications and complete necessary training
Preferred qualifications
SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR; Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite in Russellville, Arkansas; routine field visits required (daily or weekly); up to 25% travel. Field work involves walking, climbing, carrying up to 5 lbs., exposure to outdoor conditions, heavy machinery, hazardous substances, and high noise levels with PPE.
