About this role
Senior Mechanical Engineer at a Constellation nuclear facility providing advanced technical expertise in mechanical systems, equipment analysis, and problem-solving in direct support of reactor operations. Acts as a subject matter expert and technical resource for site engineering decisions impacting plant operations and long-term capital/maintenance programs.
Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and implement mechanical engineering analyses, technical activities, and programs supporting plant operations
Provide technical expertise to identify and resolve equipment and system problems affecting reactor safety and availability
Lead short-term and long-term engineering programs impacting site operations with appropriate technical and regulatory accountability
Perform engineering analyses applying mechanical engineering principles; ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work products
Maintain proper configuration management and adherence to design criteria, industry codes (ASME, etc.), and site procedures
Conduct independent research, reviews, and technical studies in support of engineering projects and regulatory compliance
Recommend equipment upgrades, new technologies, and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, address design deficiencies, or meet regulatory changes
Support emergency response, planned outages, and departmental coverage as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering
Minimum 5 years of nuclear power plant experience or closely related engineering experience in a regulated facility
Meet ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 Standard requirements for Selection, Qualification, and Training of Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants
Maintain minimum unescorted access or escorted access requirements as applicable to the role
Pass favorable medical examination and/or occupational health testing in accordance with position duties
Desired
Professional Engineer (PE) Registration/Licensure
Advanced technical degree (Master's) or specialized coursework in nuclear engineering or mechanical systems
