Engineer Licensing - New Nuclear
About this role
Principal/Senior/Staff Licensing Engineer supporting new nuclear development. Provides high-level licensing support, regulatory research, and document preparation for Construction Permit Applications (CPA), Operating License Applications (OLA), and Combined Operating License Applications (COL) with the NRC and state agencies.
Responsibilities
- —Prepare and submit required information to support Preliminary/Final Safety Analysis Reports (PSAR/FSAR) and regulatory correspondence with NRC and state agencies
- —Participate in project meetings with nuclear technology vendors, NRC, Department of Energy, and state agencies (e.g., EFSEC)
- —Provide technical advice and proactive counsel to management on complex regulatory issues
- —Provide oversight and/or mentor staff as needed
- —Identify need for and initiate development of new policies, programs, plans, and procedures to meet strategic objectives
- —Lead and organize project teams to resolve regulatory or technical issues
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from accredited institution (or PE license). High school diploma/GED required. Principal role: 8+ years engineering experience including 2+ years in licensing/regulatory processes. Senior role: 5+ years engineering experience including 2+ years in licensing/regulatory processes. Staff role: 1+ year engineering experience.
