Engineer, In-Vessel Visual Inspection
About this role
Constellation is seeking an Engineer for In-Vessel Visual Inspection to support nuclear plant operations through specialized engineering and technical work. This role involves performing visual inspection engineering tasks on reactor vessel internals, ensuring compliance with safety analyses, industry codes, and NRC regulations. Available at Entry, Mid-level, or Senior Engineer levels ($87,000–$154,000 based on experience).
Responsibilities
- —Perform in-vessel visual inspection engineering tasks and analysis, applying nuclear engineering principles and industry best practices
- —Ensure all engineering products comply with applicable safety analyses, industry codes (ASME, etc.), engineering specifications, and NRC regulatory requirements
- —Develop and implement inspection processes, techniques, and acceptance criteria at appropriate technical depth while maintaining established policies and procedures
- —Recommend improvements to inspection methodologies, reporting formats, and standard operating procedures
- —Support emergency response, departmental coverage, and outage activities as directed by management
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, or Nuclear)
- —2+ years of nuclear industry experience or related engineering experience
- —Ability to maintain minimum access or unescorted access requirements as applicable to the position
- —Favorable medical examination and/or occupational health testing per position duties
Desired
- —Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or equivalent professional credentials
- —Demonstrated knowledge of reactor vessel inspection techniques and in-service inspection (ISI) programs
- —Understanding of ASME Code Section XI and nuclear quality assurance principles
