Engineer II
About this role
Mechanical Engineer II at Westinghouse designing and analyzing reactor mechanical components and primary system supports for nuclear power plants. Hybrid role (2–3 days/week on-site) reporting to Manager of Reactor Mechanical Products at Cranberry Woods, PA headquarters.
Responsibilities
- —Design and analyze reactor mechanical components and primary system supports using ASME and AISC standards
- —Perform analytical calculations and evaluations using engineering tools; create design documentation (drawings, specifications, qualification reports) for safety and non-safety hardware
- —Collaborate across departments to develop detailed designs for reactor upgrades and new-build projects
- —Lead design and analysis efforts for assigned smaller projects within Reactor Mechanical Product group
- —Travel to nuclear power plants to gather design data and support installation of upgrades
- —Coordinate with leads, project managers, and customers; travel to vendor sites for on-site support and issue resolution
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or recognized equivalent
- —3+ years of mechanical engineering experience
- —Minimum 3.0 GPA
- —Understanding of engineering design documents (drawings, calculation summaries)
- —Knowledge of conceptual design development
Location
Cranberry Woods, PA (hybrid: 2–3 days on-site per week); occasional travel to nuclear power plants and customer/vendor sites; no relocation assistance.
