Engineer II
About this role
Mechanical Engineer II supporting AP1000 containment vessel design and fabrication for Westinghouse. Report to Manager of Reactor Vessel and Containment Vessel Design and Analysis. Develop ASME-compliant designs, perform engineering analyses, and coordinate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers on nuclear new-build and upgrade projects.
Responsibilities
- —Support ASME design and fabrication specifications for AP1000 containment vessels; interpret design drawings and technical documentation
- —Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements and develop detailed engineering designs and drawings for new builds and upgrades
- —Perform analytical calculations and evaluations using engineering design tools and methods
- —Communicate with engineering leads, project managers, customers, and manufacturing suppliers to coordinate assigned work scope
- —Travel occasionally to customer sites and manufacturing vendors for on-site engineering support, presentations, and issue resolution
Qualifications
- —BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, or recognized equivalent
- —3+ years of engineering experience
- —Understanding of AP1000 containment vessel design documents (drawings, specifications, calculation summaries)
- —Familiarity with fabrication processes and supplier interaction experience
Location
Hybrid: Westinghouse European facility or Cranberry Woods, PA; occasional travel to customer and manufacturing vendor sites
