Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or related physical science discipline, OR equivalent work experience at engineer/technical specialist level
- For Engineer I: 0–2 years' experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
- For Engineer II: 2–3 years' experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
- For Engineer III: 4–5 years' experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
- For Engineer Sr.: 8+ years' experience based on overall background and prior role evaluations
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in PC applications, engineering tools, and analytical systems appropriate to engineering level
About this role
System Engineer providing technical support for nuclear plant systems, components, and programs at an Entergy nuclear facility. Responsible for resolving plant issues, maintaining configuration control, ensuring reliability, and serving as key interface between Engineering and station departments. Role includes emergency response duties and fleet-wide technical guidance.
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve plant issues, including those from significant events and complex technical challenges
- Provide technical support to Maintenance and Operations for troubleshooting equipment, systems, and emergent conditions
- Develop and issue engineering changes, including design modifications and temporary alterations
- Maintain Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualifications and perform associated duties
- Provide technical information and guidance related to program bases, performance requirements, and compliance status
- Conduct condition-based monitoring and optimize preventative maintenance activities
- Plan, prioritize, and support project lifecycle activities, including corrective action plans and improvement initiatives
- Prepare engineering products in accordance with established standards, procedures, and quality expectations
- Support changes in system and component configuration and design basis
- Monitor system performance through trending, field walkdowns, and deficiency identification
- Perform failure evaluations and support or lead root cause analyses
- Ensure lessons learned from fleet operating experience are incorporated into site programs
- Maintain required qualifications and complete necessary training
Preferred qualifications
- SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR
- Professional Engineering (PE) license
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite in Russellville, Arkansas; up to 25% travel; additional hours and alternate locations required for storms, outages, and emergencies
