Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or related physical science discipline associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience. Experience level depends on grade: Engineer I (0–2 years), Engineer II (2–3 years), Engineer III (4–5 years), Engineer Sr. (8+ years) in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Proficiency in PC applications, engineering tools, and analytical systems appropriate to engineering level. Authorization to work in the United States.
About this role
Design basis engineer at Entergy nuclear facility supporting plant modifications, configuration control, and licensing basis maintenance. Provides technical expertise across design, operations, and maintenance to ensure safe, reliable plant performance. Acts as design authority for the site.
Responsibilities
- Maintain design basis for assigned site and support maintenance of licensing basis
- Design baseline modifications that improve plant performance cost-effectively
- Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and other site organizations
- Identify and resolve issues via corrective action and work management processes
- Develop engineering products in accordance with defined standards and procedures
- Maintain design integrity through effective configuration control of design output documents (specifications, calculations, drawings, test requirements, procedures)
- Serve on outage engineering support teams
- Act as design authority for the site
- Maintain required qualifications and training
Preferred qualifications
Civil, Structural, and Piping experience. Experience with codes and standards (IWE/IWL, ASME, Piping). SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR. Professional Engineering (PE) license.
Location, schedule, and travel
Port Gibson, Mississippi; up to 25% travel; onsite with availability for additional hours and alternate locations during storms, outages, and emergencies.
