Engineer I- Senior (Nuc)
About this role
Plant Support Engineer at Entergy providing technical support for nuclear plant systems, components, and programs at a PWR or BWR facility. This role resolves day-to-day plant issues, maintains configuration control, and serves as a key technical interface between Engineering and station departments. Position is leveled Engineer I through Senior based on experience (0-2 years for Engineer I; 2-3 years for Engineer II; 4-5 years for Engineer III; 6-8+ years for Senior).
Responsibilities
- —Identify and resolve plant issues, including those from significant events and complex technical challenges
- —Provide technical support to Maintenance and Operations for troubleshooting equipment, systems, and emergent conditions
- —Develop and issue engineering changes, including design modifications and temporary alterations
- —Maintain Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualifications and perform associated duties
- —Provide technical information and guidance related to program bases, performance requirements, and compliance status
- —Conduct condition-based monitoring of equipment and optimize preventative maintenance activities
- —Plan, prioritize, and support project lifecycle activities, including corrective action plans and improvement initiatives
- —Prepare engineering products in accordance with established standards, procedures, and quality expectations
- —Support changes in system and component configuration, design, and design basis
- —Serve on outage engineering support teams for online and refueling outages
- —Monitor system performance including trending, field walkdowns, and deficiency identification
- —Perform failure evaluations and support or lead root cause analyses
- —Ensure lessons learned from fleet operating experience are incorporated into site programs
- —Maintain required qualifications and complete necessary training
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) or related physical science discipline associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience
- —0-2 years nuclear design, operations, or equivalent experience (for Engineer I level)
- —Strong communication and teamwork skills
- —Proficiency in PC applications, engineering tools, and analytical systems
Desired
- —Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering degree
- —SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR
- —Professional Engineer (PE) license
- —2-3 years experience (Engineer II level), 4-5 years (Engineer III level), or 6-8 years (Senior Engineer level)
Location
Onsite at Port Gibson, Mississippi; up to 25% travel; no relocation offered
