Electrical Instrumentation & Control (I&C) engineer at Constellation Energy, the nation's largest producer of carbon-free nuclear electricity. This role involves complex technical problem-solving, system analysis, and regulatory compliance supporting nuclear plant operations. Available at mid-level (E02, 2+ years experience) or senior (E03, 5+ years experience).
Responsibilities
- —Develop, manage, and implement electrical I&C engineering analyses, activities, and programs
- —Identify and resolve equipment and system problems through direct technical consultation and troubleshooting
- —Manage engineering issues from assignment through completion, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- —Apply engineering principles and verify adherence to design criteria, codes, and regulatory standards (10 CFR, industry standards)
- —Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses supporting technical projects
- —Recommend equipment, concepts, and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, correct design flaws, or support regulatory compliance
- —Support emergency response, outage activities, and operational coverage as assigned
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or related discipline
- —Mid-level: minimum 2 years nuclear or related engineering experience
- —Senior-level: minimum 5 years nuclear or related engineering experience
- —Maintain nuclear facility unescorted access eligibility (background check, medical exam)
- —Knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems in nuclear plants
Desired
- —Professional Engineer (PE) registration or eligibility
- —I&C design or control system design experience
- —SCADA and distributed control systems (DCS) experience
- —Advanced technical degree or relevant coursework
