Engineer Associate- Engineer ( Station Engineer)
About this role
Entry-level engineering position for recent graduates with a Bachelor's degree in ABET-accredited engineering. You'll perform engineering work activities on projects involving system production, control systems, distribution standards, and fossil or nuclear plant operations under supervisor direction. This role offers pathway to advanced proficiency in specialized technical areas including nuclear plant operations, thermo-hydraulic systems, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- —Perform entry-level engineering work activities and projects applying engineering knowledge to assigned objectives
- —Develop advanced proficiency in specialized technical areas such as system production, control systems, thermo-hydraulic systems, distribution standards, or fossil/nuclear plant operations
- —Serve as a technical resource for the company in assigned area of expertise
- —Lead, facilitate, and coordinate work activities within assigned work group or team
- —Develop, recommend, and implement engineering plans including scheduling, resource, and cost information
- —Identify, clarify, and initiate solutions to complex engineering problems requiring multi-functional analysis
- —Prepare and present complex technical subjects to senior management, regulatory bodies, and professional organizations
- —Build teams and networks across AEP, other companies, professional organizations, and regulatory agencies
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Desired
- —Passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination
- —Progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
Location
On-site in New Albany, OH. Sedentary work requiring up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; sitting most of the time with occasional walking or standing.
