Electronic Technician
About this role
12-month+ contract role with Westinghouse supporting nuclear operations. Initial training in July 2026 at Waltz Mill facility (Madison, PA) covers EDM equipment maintenance and instrumentation & control (I&C) field work, with subsequent deployment to various nuclear sites.
Responsibilities
- —Perform I&C tasks: install, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, control circuits, PLCs, sensors, and automated process control systems
- —Operate, set up, and program ZAP EDM sinker machines for precision manufacturing
- —Perform instrumentation testing using digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and customer supplier equipment/simulators
- —Interpret engineering drawings and implement test procedures
- —Operate electronic and electrical test equipment
- —Read and follow drawings, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic diagrams for assembly and testing of electronics units
- —Perform field cable installation work at nuclear sites
- —Document maintenance activities and maintain equipment logs
- —Ensure compliance with engineering and production teams to support manufacturing operations
- —Practice appropriate quality, health, and safety procedures for each work assignment
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent job experience; strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with precision equipment; basic knowledge of electronic theory and components.
Desired
2+ years of similar work experience; strong military background with electronics work (Electronics Technicians, Avionics Specialists, or similar); familiarity with ZAP EDM or similar sinker/wire EDM equipment.
Location
Initial training July 2026 in Madison, PA (Waltz Mill facility); field deployment to various nuclear sites; travel required.
