About this role
Entry-level electrical maintenance role at Surry Nuclear Power Station (Dominion). You will inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits and equipment under supervision of experienced electricians. This position requires unescorted nuclear access and occasional travel for station outages.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical circuits and electronic equipment using hand tools and testing instruments (ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter)
- Isolate defects in wiring, switches, monitors, and other electrical equipment; replace faulty components
- Dismantle electrical machinery, replace defective parts and fixtures, and complete circuits according to diagram specifications
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and around power plant equipment to safeguard personnel and equipment
- Participate in emergency response organization; travel up to one month or more to support other station outages as needed
- Maintain clean shop and work areas
Preferred qualifications
- Military service (E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3 ranks) with equivalent education and experience
- Passing score on EEI Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS) aptitude test
Location, schedule, and travel
Surry, Virginia (onsite); shift work as required for power plant operations; occasional travel up to one month or more for station outages; must be able to lift 50 lbs.
