Electrical / I&C Engineer
About this role
Electrical/I&C Engineer supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Callaway Energy Center, a nuclear facility in mid-Missouri. You will provide technical expertise on assigned systems and components, ensure NRC regulatory compliance, and drive equipment optimization and reliability through engineering analysis, design reviews, and operational support.
Responsibilities
- —Manage and own assigned technical Programs, Systems, Components, and Design; ensure compliance with NRC regulations, industry codes/standards, and plant procedures
- —Perform evaluation, causal analysis, and trending of equipment and system conditions, deficiencies, and failures; determine and implement corrective actions
- —Interface with Operations, Maintenance, Work Management, and regulatory agencies for planning and execution of cost-effective maintenance and outage support
- —Provide engineering support during refueling outages, emergent issues, and operational events; support troubleshooting and technical expertise for complex plant problems
- —Review technical specifications, instruction manuals, and safety-related equipment testing and maintenance requirements
- —Develop, revise, and review engineering documents, design changes, procedures, and technical specifications
- —Perform engineering evaluations of NRC and INPO documents; review and disseminate Operating Experience
- —Perform calculations, technical analyses, and disposition of Requests for Resolution (RFRs)
- —Support design basis changes; participate in technical design reviews, hazard analyses, and maintenance planning
- —Act as Responsible Engineer or Project Manager for projects and modifications
- —Assume Emergency Response Organization (ERO) duties per Callaway Radiological Emergency Response Plan
Qualifications
- —Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- —Ability to meet plant access, security screening, and fitness-for-duty requirements
- —Strong leadership, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- —Ability to work in a regulated environment and follow strict procedures
- —Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- —Strong human relations and industrial safety skills
- —Ability to work safely in industrial environments including radiation areas, heights, and confined spaces
- —Commitment to industrial safety and nuclear safety culture
Desired
- —Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) Registration
- —Previous Nuclear Utility experience
Location
Mid-Missouri; Callaway Energy Center. Standard day shift with additional hours and/or rotating shifts required during refueling outages and emergent plant activities. Work in office and plant environments, including radiation areas, heights, and confined spaces.
