Design Electrical Engineer (Nuclear)-ANO
About this role
Design Electrical Engineer supporting nuclear plant design bases, modifications, and licensing compliance at Arkansas Nuclear One (a two-unit Combustion Engineering PWR facility). This role maintains design and licensing basis documentation, develops cost-effective modification designs, and provides technical support across operations and maintenance. Position can be filled as Engineer II, III, or Senior based on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- —Maintain design basis documentation for the site and support maintenance of the NRC licensing basis
- —Provide cost-effective modification designs to improve plant performance and reliability
- —Provide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and other site organizations on electrical systems design issues
- —Support safe, reliable operation by identifying and effectively resolving issues via corrective action and work management processes
- —Develop engineering products (drawings, calculations, technical reports) in accordance with defined standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- —Serve on outage engineering support teams and maintain required qualifications and certifications
Qualifications
- —B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related scientific discipline
- —Engineer II: 2+ years of post-degree engineering experience (1+ year required if holding master's degree)
- —Engineer III: 4+ years of post-degree engineering experience (3+ years required if holding PE license or master's degree)
- —Senior Engineer: 6+ years of post-degree engineering experience (5+ years required if holding PE license)
- —Good to excellent written and verbal communication skills
- —Proficiency with PC applications appropriate to engineering level (CAD, Microsoft Office, engineering software)
Desired
- —SRO (Senior Reactor Operator) license or certification on a PWR or BWR
- —Professional Engineering (PE) license
Location
Onsite in Russellville, Arkansas (ANO facility). Up to 25% travel for industry meetings and training. Available for additional hours and alternate shift schedules during outages and emergencies.
