Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Procurement and/or Contract Management
  • Experience working with internal stakeholders and supplier relations
  • Experience with purchasing first-of-a-kind fabricated equipment, IT software, and commercial items
  • Understanding of quality assurance and export control requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and produce quality work

About this role

TerraPower seeks a Contract Administrator to support procurement and subcontract management for advanced nuclear reactor development. You'll manage complex federal government contracting (including DOE/DOD agreements), supplier negotiations, and acquisition of specialized nuclear equipment and services while minimizing project risk and ensuring compliance with quality assurance and export control requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support procurement and subcontract management for advanced reactor projects, including federal government contracting
  • Manage procurement activities with focus on performance, change control, quality, cost, and schedule
  • Work with requestors to understand procurement requirements and review statements of work and technical specifications
  • Select appropriate terms and conditions for each procurement and negotiate supplier exceptions with Legal
  • Perform market research to identify qualified suppliers for specialized nuclear equipment and components
  • Prepare and manage pre-award activities: RFPs, RFQs, EOIs, and supplier site visits
  • Perform price analyses and obtain funding approval before entering contractual agreements
  • Submit procurement packages for review and obtain correct approvals before award
  • Issue Purchase Orders and other forms of agreements to suppliers
  • Monitor and expedite orders to ensure on-time delivery and compliance
  • Manage post-award activities: performance tracking, change control, quality verification, cost, and schedule management
  • Verify receipt of items and resolve receipt and invoice discrepancies
  • Perform contract closeout activities and maintain complete and accurate purchasing files and records
  • Collaborate with Supply Management team to coordinate review of client contracts and provide negotiation support

Preferred qualifications

  • Military experience
  • U.S. Government (DOE or DOD) contracting and subcontracting experience
  • Nuclear or related industry experience
  • Technical background, experience-based or formal
