CNC Machinist
About this role
CNC Machinist at Westinghouse producing precision components for nuclear energy applications. Program and operate CNC machines from engineering drawings while meeting strict quality, timeline, and regulatory requirements in a safety-critical manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Program CNC machines using drawing files and conversion software; set tools, prepare fixtures and jigs for machining operations; machine precision components to engineered specifications within allocated timeframes; follow all Risk Assessment requirements for equipment; deliver acceptable parts on schedule; support apprentices and CNC operators in equipment setup; offer design recommendations; identify and implement process improvements; manage part programme files with backup protocols; contribute to toolbox talks and safety communications.
Qualifications
College Diploma and Red Seal certification required; 5–10 years of experience; intermediate ability to set up, adjust and operate conventional machine tools or entry-level CNC operator experience; advanced knowledge of hand precision tools and drawing interpretation.

Onsite at Peterborough, Ontario, Canada facility
