Required qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or other engineering degree generally associated with power plant operations in civil and structural design, or equivalent work experience
- Engineer I: 0–2 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
- Engineer II: 2–3 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
- Engineer III: 3–4 years experience in nuclear power design, operations, or equivalent
- Sr. Engineer: 4–5 years experience in nuclear design, operations, or equivalent
- Sr. Lead: 6+ years experience in nuclear design, operations, or equivalent
About this role
Civil/Structural Design Engineer supporting nuclear plant operations at Entergy's Russellville facility. This role identifies and resolves plant issues, maintains configuration control, and serves as liaison between engineering and station departments. Position available at Engineer I through Sr. Lead levels (0–6+ years experience).
Responsibilities
- Support Maintenance, Operations, and on-site organizations in resolving plant issues stemming from significant events or complex equipment problems
- Support and maintain Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualifications and duties
- Interface with Maintenance and Operations to develop cost-effective maintenance strategies
- Issue engineering changes (design changes and temporary modifications) to address emergent plant issues and equipment reliability problems
- Support planning and prioritization aspects of project life cycle
- Implement action plans to address deficiencies via corrective action and work management processes
- Support changes in system configuration/design and design basis
- Develop engineering products in accordance with defined standards and procedures
- Participate in project teams for critical on-line system outages or refueling outages
- Serve on outage engineering support teams
- Attend training and maintain qualifications necessary for required group functions
- Be available to work additional hours and alternate locations for storms, outages, emergencies, or other situations as deemed necessary
Preferred qualifications
- Civil, Structural, and Piping experience
- Experience with codes and standards (IWE/IWL, ASME, Piping)
- SRO license or certification on a PWR or BWR
- Professional Engineering license
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite in Russellville, Arkansas; up to 25% travel; on-call availability for emergencies and outages
