Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations) industry
  • Minimum 5 years in dedicated BIM management or coordination role focused on structural or civil projects
  • Expert-level proficiency in Autodesk Revit Structure with demonstrable portfolio of complex projects
  • Experience with Autodesk Navisworks for coordination and clash detection
  • Proven experience creating and managing advanced Revit families, parameters, and templates
  • Drafting/designer experience in engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, structural, civil, or related fields

About this role

Kairos Power, a advanced nuclear reactor developer, seeks a BIM Senior Engineer I to lead Building Information Modeling implementation for civil structures projects supporting nuclear energy infrastructure. You will develop company-wide BIM standards and Revit workflows, manage BIM strategy across multiple projects from design through construction, mentor engineering teams, and serve as the in-house Revit expert for nuclear facility design and coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide BIM strategy with focus on Revit standards and workflows for civil structures in nuclear projects
  • Champion BIM technology adoption across civil engineering disciplines, ensuring integration between Revit and Civil 3D with coordinated federated models
  • Establish and manage Common Data Environment (CDE) for all project information with Revit models as central source of truth
  • Oversee BIM process on multiple civil structures projects from planning through as-built documentation, managing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) with Revit modeling standards and LOD requirements
  • Lead interdisciplinary coordination and clash detection using Navisworks to coordinate Revit models across structural, electrical, and mechanical disciplines
  • Serve as in-house expert for Revit Structure, providing advanced technical guidance, troubleshooting, and developing comprehensive libraries of standardized Revit families for civil structural elements
  • Mentor project teams and BIM coordinators on Revit best practices, work-sharing, data management, and develop customized training programs for civil engineering staff
  • Conduct quality control reviews of Revit models to ensure BIM deliverables meet accuracy, detail, and quality standards; stay current with latest Revit versions and BIM standards such as ISO 19650
  • Collaborate with civil structural, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate utilities and infrastructure; generate 2D and 3D layout drawings to communicate design concepts
  • Partner with engineering, procurement, and construction teams for seamless coordination; conduct periodic plant layout reviews to identify optimization and cost reduction opportunities

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with other BIM and reality capture software (AVEVA 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, OpenBridge, Recap, ReCap Pro)
  • Familiarity with data management platforms such as BIM 360/Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Experience with Dynamo for Revit
  • Experience in nuclear or other regulated environments
