Required qualifications
- At least 21 years old; High School diploma or GED; Valid driver's license; REAL ID or REAL ID-compliant identification
- Ability to obtain and maintain nuclear unescorted access; meet state requirements to carry firearm; pass State and Federal training and licensing qualifications
- Negative drug and alcohol test (including THC per NRC requirements); pass extensive background check (criminal history, references, employment/education verification, credit)
- Successfully complete position training including physical fitness test, firearms qualification, and nuclear site-specific training; pass psychological assessment and physical exams (vision/hearing)
- Ability to operate radio, telephone, console monitors, and surveillance equipment
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and forced overtime; physically capable of transit, climbing, lifting up to 25 lbs, and accessing Bullet Resistant Enclosure towers
About this role
Armed Nuclear Security Officer protecting Constellation's nuclear facilities against radiological sabotage, attack, and theft. Maintain site perimeter security, conduct armed patrols and inspections, monitor surveillance systems, control protected area access, and respond to security threats as part of an armed response force.
Responsibilities
- Conduct armed stationary, foot, and vehicle patrols (interior and exterior) and control access/egress of personnel, materials, and vehicles at security areas
- Monitor CCTV, plant surveillance equipment, and alarm systems; perform search activities and inspections per Station Security Plan
- Respond to threats and contingency events as Armed Response Force member; maintain thorough knowledge of plant systems to support defensive strategy
- Monitor and implement NRC requirements and Federal/State Laws for site protection and protected area access control
- Perform equipment testing and maintenance; maintain accurate documentation per federal and corporate guidelines
- Participate in initial and annual training programs for armed Nuclear Security Officer qualifications; perform emergency response duties and outage support
Location, schedule, and travel
Onsite at Constellation nuclear facility; 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and forced overtime; interior and exterior patrol requirements
