Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR Certified Navy Nuclear Operator
- Licensed NRC Reactor Operator (RO) License
- Licensed NRC Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License
- Minimum 8 years of applicable nuclear experience
- Ability to successfully obtain and maintain unescorted access at Nuclear Power Plants
About this role
Develop and deliver training programs for Senior Reactor Operators on the AP1000 reactor and global Westinghouse operating fleet. This role combines hands-on plant experience with advanced reactor design expertise across classroom, plant, and simulator environments, using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) methodology.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all stages of the SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) process for initial and continuing education programs
- Perform analysis, design, and implementation of training needs in specialty areas
- Design and deliver training sessions for licensed and non-licensed operations personnel in classroom, plant, and simulator settings
- Collaborate on simulator malfunction analysis and required testing
- Coordinate training activities and support training committees and planning programs
- Develop and maintain advanced educational resources including simulators, multimedia, videos, and models
Preferred qualifications
- Naval Nuclear Officer or equivalent background
- Master's degree in scientific or technological field
- Training or instructional background
Location, schedule, and travel
Hybrid, 2-3 days/week on-site at Westinghouse facilities in Cranberry Township, PA or Madison, PA
