AP1000 SRO Instructor
About this role
Develop and deliver training programs for Senior Reactor Operators on the AP1000 reactor and global Westinghouse operating fleet. This role combines hands-on plant experience with advanced reactor design expertise across classroom, plant, and simulator environments, using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) methodology.
Responsibilities
- —Participate in all stages of the SAT (Systematic Approach to Training) process for initial and continuing education programs
- —Perform analysis, design, and implementation of training needs in specialty areas
- —Design and deliver training sessions for licensed and non-licensed operations personnel in classroom, plant, and simulator settings
- —Collaborate on simulator malfunction analysis and required testing
- —Coordinate training activities and support training committees and planning programs
- —Develop and maintain advanced educational resources including simulators, multimedia, videos, and models
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR Certified Navy Nuclear Operator
- —Licensed NRC Reactor Operator (RO) License
- —Licensed NRC Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License
- —Minimum 8 years of applicable nuclear experience
- —Ability to successfully obtain and maintain unescorted access at Nuclear Power Plants
Desired
- —Naval Nuclear Officer or equivalent background
- —Master's degree in scientific or technological field
- —Training or instructional background
Location
Hybrid, 2-3 days/week on-site at Westinghouse facilities in Cranberry Township, PA or Madison, PA
