Required qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of electrical apprenticeship or 3+ years experience as electrician; pass EEI MASS test; U.S. person status (citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee); willingness to serve in Emergency Response Organization (ERO); subject to random Fitness for Duty testing

About this role

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station (PVNGS), one of the largest nuclear power plants in the US. This role supports Waste & Radwaste Facility (WRF) operations and requires working with energized equipment (up to 13.8 kV) in a nuclear facility environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair WRF electrical systems and control systems to identify root causes • Minimize plant equipment downtime while performing repairs and preventive maintenance • Work safely around energized equipment (up to 13.8 kV), hazardous chemicals, temperature extremes, heights, and confined spaces • Support refueling and short-notice outages including line roles and responsibilities • Collaborate with other WRF teams and external customers to ensure overall team success • Attend and complete scheduled technical training and support Emergency Response Organization (ERO) activities as needed

Location, schedule, and travel

Onsite at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Arizona. Must reside in Arizona or New Mexico.
