Required qualifications
High school diploma or GED; one year of technical school or equivalent dimensional inspection experience; one year of technical/manufacturing experience or six months of inspection experience; ability to perform mathematical calculations and read precision measuring instruments; good troubleshooting knowledge and mechanical ability; understanding of manufacturing safety requirements and PPE; ability to follow detailed work instructions
About this role
Perform nondestructive dimensional and visual inspection of nuclear manufacturing components using precision measuring equipment and ultrasonic instruments. Support equipment setup and procedure development in a regulated nuclear manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate dimensional inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, and ultrasonic thickness testing instruments
- Conduct visual inspections and compare products to specifications and regulatory standards
- Review travelers and inspection procedures; interpret customer requirements and specifications
- Record and maintain accurate documentation on all inspection processes
- Assist with development and implementation of new testing and inspection procedures
- Perform material preparation and cleaning for nondestructive testing
- Operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment (forklifts); use hand tools (drills, banding equipment, metal cutters)
- Follow all site and corporate policies, safety regulations, PPE requirements, and manufacturing safety protocols (Lock and Tag, Human Performance tools)
Location, schedule, and travel
100% onsite at Ogden, UT; physical requirements include use of hand tools, overhead cranes, and forklifts
