About this role
Supplier Quality Representative at TerraPower responsible for ensuring supplier compliance with nuclear quality requirements across the procurement and fabrication lifecycle. This role oversees critical and first-of-a-kind components for advanced nuclear reactor development, reporting to the Senior Manager of Supplier Quality. You will implement supplier surveillance, manage material acceptance activities, and maintain nuclear safety culture standards across TerraPower's supply chain.
Responsibilities
- —Implement supplier surveillance and oversight material acceptance plans for complex and first-of-a-kind procurement to ensure compliance with quality and technical standards
- —Prepare and issue clear and concise Supplier Quality surveillance reports to capture fabrication activities
- —Participate in resolution of technical and quality issues arising from area/shop Supplier Quality activities including monitoring of dispositions and corrections
- —Perform general assessment and critique of nuclear quality programs and assessments
- —Partner with Supply Chain management to resolve technical and quality deficiencies with suppliers and oversee critical procurements to meet project milestones
- —Ensure personal, industrial, and nuclear safety is a core aspect of daily work
- —Promote and reinforce a strong nuclear safety culture internally and externally by ensuring supplier adherence to quality, safety, and human performance tools
- —Perform material acceptance activities including initial visits, in-process surveillances, witness and hold points, and inspection activities at supplier shops
Qualifications
- —Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a technical discipline, business, management, or quality assurance field
- —10+ years' experience in a nuclear (NRC, DOE) Supplier Quality function
- —QA experience in NRC 10 CFR 50, Appendix B regulated environment
- —Working knowledge of NQA-1 requirements and a strong background in auditing
Desired
- —Current Lead Auditor certification or ability to become a Lead Auditor
- —Experience with industry codes, standards and guides such as ASME, ASNT, AWS, AISC, ASTM, EPRI, NEI, ISO, NEC and IEEE
- —Extensive experience working with or managing suppliers in manufacturing/fabrication environments, including surveillance, supplier quality, process qualifications, welding, inspections, and QC data package reviews
Location
0-10% travel required; onsite work in manufacturing/fabrication environments; ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds
