About this role
Supervise Radiation Protection Technicians at a Constellation nuclear facility, directing decontamination, instrumentation, training, and radiation exposure control programs. Ensure ALARA compliance and regulatory adherence while managing daily RP operations and personnel.
Responsibilities
- —Direct daily supervision, monitoring, and coaching of Radiation Protection Technicians to ensure productivity and compliance with company policies and collective bargaining agreements
- —Manage day-to-day Radiation Protection program operations to ensure timely work completion and maintain nuclear worker exposure As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA)
- —Oversee routine plant cleaning, equipment decontamination, and tool decontamination activities
- —Manage hiring, training, and field oversight of Laborers and Radiation Protection Technicians
- —Develop and deliver oral and written communications to all audiences regarding company programs, policies, and announcements
- —Manage plant contaminated square footage and monitor personnel contamination events
- —Interface with Plant Staff and regulators on Radiation Protection program implementation and compliance matters
- —Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and state requirements
- —Support emergency response, departmental coverage, outage activities, and other assignments as directed by management
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree with 5 years of applied radiation protection experience, OR
- —Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of applied Radiation Protection experience, OR
- —Associate's degree with 7 years of applied radiation protection experience, OR
- —High school diploma/GED with 9 years of applied Radiation Protection experience
- —Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements as applicable
- —Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Desired
- —Successful completion of National Registry Radiation Protection Technicians (NRRPT) certification
- —Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field (health physics, chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.)
Location
Onsite at nuclear facility; subject to emergency response and outage support requirements.
