About this role

Supervise Radiation Protection Technicians at a Constellation nuclear facility, directing decontamination, instrumentation, training, and radiation exposure control programs. Ensure ALARA compliance and regulatory adherence while managing daily RP operations and personnel.

Responsibilities

—Direct daily supervision, monitoring, and coaching of Radiation Protection Technicians to ensure productivity and compliance with company policies and collective bargaining agreements
—Manage day-to-day Radiation Protection program operations to ensure timely work completion and maintain nuclear worker exposure As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA)
—Oversee routine plant cleaning, equipment decontamination, and tool decontamination activities
—Manage hiring, training, and field oversight of Laborers and Radiation Protection Technicians
—Develop and deliver oral and written communications to all audiences regarding company programs, policies, and announcements
—Manage plant contaminated square footage and monitor personnel contamination events
—Interface with Plant Staff and regulators on Radiation Protection program implementation and compliance matters
—Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and state requirements
—Support emergency response, departmental coverage, outage activities, and other assignments as directed by management

Qualifications

—Bachelor's degree with 5 years of applied radiation protection experience, OR
—Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator license with 5 years of applied Radiation Protection experience, OR
—Associate's degree with 7 years of applied radiation protection experience, OR
—High school diploma/GED with 9 years of applied Radiation Protection experience
—Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements as applicable
—Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties

Desired

—Successful completion of National Registry Radiation Protection Technicians (NRRPT) certification
—Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field (health physics, chemistry, physics, medical physics, etc.)
