About this role
Supervisor of Nuclear Maintenance at Duke Energy generation facility. Lead a team of nuclear maintenance technicians performing periodic and corrective maintenance while ensuring strict compliance with NRC regulations and safety standards across all reactor operating modes.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to nuclear maintenance personnel performing station maintenance activities
- Oversee both periodic (preventive) and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure plant operability and safety compliance
- Ensure plant systems are maintained safely during all operational modes (startup, full power, shutdown, refueling)
- Build, train, and develop a high-performing team of nuclear maintenance professionals
- Coordinate complex, multi-disciplinary maintenance activities and manage personnel assignments
- Ensure strict adherence to NRC regulations, technical specifications, and station safety procedures
- Manage conflict resolution, performance issues, and foster a strong safety culture within the team
- Meet regulatory expectations, management objectives, and plant operational requirements
Preferred qualifications
- Proficiency with nuclear industry systems (WMS, EQSS, Nuclear University) and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated experience with conflict resolution and team motivation in nuclear environments
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex, concurrent maintenance tasks
- Experience coordinating work in high-hazard, radiation-exposed environments
- Commitment to continuous safety improvement and personnel development
Location, schedule, and travel
On-site at Duke Energy generation facility; 24-hour on-call rotation; 5–15% travel. Work environment includes: radiation exposure, extreme temperatures (15–160°F), confined spaces, heavy equipment operation, and high-pressure steam/water systems.
