Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, or Nuclear) or related science OR Active/Inactive Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license
  • 10 years overall experience including 4 years power plant experience, 1 year nuclear power plant experience, and 1 year supervisory or managerial experience
  • Active SRO license, inactive SRO license, SRO certification, or plant operational knowledge consistent with engineering manager requirements
  • Compliance with ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.3.8) Standard for Selection, Qualification, and Training of Personnel for Nuclear Power Plants
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, and favorable medical examination/testing as applicable

Senior Manager of Design Engineering at Constellation, the nation's largest clean energy producer. Lead the engineering function at a nuclear facility, manage engineering staff, and serve as backup to the Site Engineering Director while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the engineering function with respect to station needs and regulatory requirements
  • Manage performance and development of assigned engineering personnel relative to site and corporate objectives
  • Participate as key manager in Business Planning, Budget, and Business Performance reviews regarding Site Engineering
  • Fulfill managerial responsibilities for assigned staff including employment, development, compensation, and performance evaluation
  • Ensure consistent and effective workforce practices through assigned supervisors and functions
  • Provide engineering and technical leadership for short-term and long-term programs impacting site operations
  • Participate as senior resource to Nuclear-wide programs and initiatives regarding standardized and enhanced engineering systems and processes
  • Support emergency response duties, department coverage, and outage activities as directed

Preferred qualifications

  • Professional Engineering Registration (PE)
  • Advanced technical degree or MBA
