About this role
Senior Data Scientist at Constellation Energy, the nation's largest producer of clean and reliable nuclear energy. Apply advanced data science and machine learning methods to extract insights from complex datasets (time-series, structured, and unstructured) to optimize nuclear reactor performance, operational efficiency, and business outcomes across nuclear facilities.
Responsibilities
- —Develop predictive models that reduce operational expenses, improve reactor performance, and optimize specific criteria for nuclear and energy operations
- —Mine large and small datasets using advanced statistical and machine learning methods to extract actionable insights for nuclear operations
- —Collect, cleanse, standardize, and analyze data from multiple internal and external sources across nuclear facilities and energy systems
- —Develop and recommend data sampling techniques, collection methods, and cleaning specifications for nuclear operational data
- —Analyze data using modern analytics frameworks (Python, R, Scala, Spark, Hadoop) to support nuclear process improvement and safety initiatives
- —Build, modify, monitor, and maintain high-performance computing systems supporting nuclear analytics
- —Validate findings with business and engineering stakeholders through clear communication of analysis outputs
- —Access, enrich, and analyze data from various company systems and data warehouses across nuclear operations and engineering teams
- —Work with nuclear engineering, operations, and technology teams to translate data-intensive problems into actionable data science projects
- —Serve as subject matter expert in artificial intelligence, machine learning, feature engineering, and data manipulation for nuclear applications
- —Share knowledge with team members, business stakeholders, and IT partners on data science methodologies
- —Collaborate with analytic teams across the organization to improve analytical capabilities for nuclear safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (Data Science, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related field)
- —5-8 years of relevant experience developing hypotheses, applying machine learning algorithms, and validating results on large datasets
- —Strong knowledge in at least two of: machine learning, artificial intelligence, statistical modeling, data mining, information retrieval, or data visualization
- —Proven experience developing and deploying predictive analytics projects using one or more languages (Python, R, Scala, etc.)
- —Ability to translate data analysis and findings into coherent conclusions and actionable recommendations for business partners and executives
- —Strong oral and written communication skills
Desired
- —Master's or PhD in a quantitative discipline
- —Strong Python proficiency with scikit-learn, pandas, and numpy
- —3+ years of advanced analytics experience with large, complex datasets
