About this role

Senior Sourcing Specialist for Pooled Inventory Management (PIM) and SAFER emergency response programs serving Southern Nuclear's nuclear utility operations. Responsible for sourcing equipment, materials, and services; administering contracts; and managing supplier relationships for critical nuclear inventory in compliance with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B Quality Assurance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide plant procurement services including sourcing materials, equipment, and services per PIM Rules and 10 CFR 50 Appendix B QA Program requirements
  • Conduct supplier market research and identify qualified sources of supply
  • Prepare and administer Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), and perform bid evaluations
  • Review and analyze competitive bids for accuracy, completeness, contractor background, and pricing
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, conditions, and service agreements with suppliers
  • Coordinate shipment, order follow-up, and expediting activities
  • Support contract renewals, amendments, change orders, and participant-specific agreements in alignment with PIM, SAFER, SMS, and PEICo requirements
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with critical suppliers and resolve quality, schedule, delivery, and commercial issues
  • Support SAFER emergency response team through training, qualification, and participation in quarterly drills
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for all procurement activities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, contract administration, or purchasing
  • Demonstrated experience developing and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Experience administering RFQs, RFPs, bid evaluations, and supplier negotiations
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and resolving commercial issues
  • Strong commercial and business acumen; self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and project management skills
  • Customer-focused with ability to build and maintain relationships at all organizational levels

Desired

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM), or Certified Commercial Contract Manager (CCCM)
  • Nuclear industry experience
