Required qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership is required
- Site project lead, construction manager, or project manager experience is preferred
- First-line supervisor or work-management experience is preferred
- Project implementation at an operating nuclear plant or other operating facility is preferred
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field is desired, not required
- Project management experience, cost/benefit analysis, and contract writing are desired
- Excellent oral and written communication
About this role
Site project lead at Plant Vogtle, reporting to the Manager of Site Projects. The job is to run implementation of major projects and design changes at the plant.
Responsibilities
- Own scope, schedule, and budget, and hold scope control
- Oversee project teams, including task directors, supplemental supervisors, and craft
- Assess team proficiency and act on it
- Observe work in meetings and in the field, including supplemental workers
- Give constructability, estimate, assumption, and risk input for each alternative
- Walk down proposed layouts for interferences
- Manage installation so it matches the design intent, codes, and regulatory requirements, and clear technical issues that come up
- Keep implementation safe and error-free, with a safety plan and risk register in place
- Make sure operations, maintenance, and engineering needs are in the scope
- Do the operational risk assessment for the project
- Line up testing and startup support, and train stakeholders before turnover
- Close out the punch list and represent the project in challenge meetings
Location, schedule, and travel
Must live within 90 minutes of the SNC Emergency Operations Facility. Travel up to 25%.
