Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated electrical, mechanical, machining or inspection skills.
- Specific knowledge of electrical or mechanical drawing, or machining plus required mathematics.
- Journeyman papers in electrical or machining is preferred

About this role
As a Shop Technician II on our Rotating Equipment Services team, you will be responsible for machining, mechanical assembly, equipment repair, and refurbishment of components and tooling systems. This will include conducting electrical, mechanical, and visual inspections to ensure quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Site specific training, Radiation safety, Hazard communication, Respiratory protection and rigging.
- Demonstrate, understand and practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principals, Industrial Health & Safety, and ALARA principals, specific security requirements, and the importance of observing both Westinghouse and customer license requirements.
- Contribute to observations in the shop.
- Apply Nuclear Culture Safety requirements.
- Electrical inspections include operating Electrical Test Equipment, such as Megger, DLOR, and Fluke.
- They also include operating Motor Test Panels and visual inspections on insulation systems, including Stators, Rotors, and Heaters.
- Additionally, verifications on stator windings and testing are part of the process.
- Mechanical inspections include physically measuring the product with testing equipment.
- Visual inspections include looking for defects in the product.
- Operate machine tools, electrical test equipment, welding equipment, overhead crane, jib crane, forklift trucks or other service equipment in the repair of nuclear equipment.
Pay, eligibility, and equal opportunity
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58,310.61 to $85,561.02 per year. #LI-Onsite Why Westinghouse?
