S/G Field Service Technician
About this role
Steam Generator Field Service Technician at Westinghouse supporting primary side steam generator work at customer nuclear sites. Responsibilities include Eddy Current Testing (ECT), tube repair, vessel cover closure services, and NDE equipment operation in safety-critical nuclear environments. Role combines field service deployment with hands-on technical work under qualified procedures.
Responsibilities
- —Operate steam generator field service equipment including cleaning processes, NDE technology, robotic systems, and computer networks at customer nuclear sites
- —Perform Eddy Current Testing (ECT) of steam generator tubing and execute tube repair work
- —Provide vessel cover closure services and Service Center support (equipment maintenance, decontamination, calibration, shipment preparation)
- —Execute assigned tasks under general supervision with high quality standards, maintaining compliance with qualified procedures and guidelines
- —Apply ALARA principles, Human Performance Tools, INPO Principles, and Nuclear Culture Safety requirements in all work activities
- —Participate in performance-based training to maintain certifications and stay current with technology
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; Specific knowledge and training in electrical, electronic, or mechanical curriculum; Ability to maintain Unescorted Access status; Willingness to work with hazardous materials.
Desired
Associate's Degree or Bachelor's in electronics or other technical field; Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) experience or certification.
Location
Onsite 5 days per week at Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA; 25–50% travel required to customer nuclear sites.
