Senior Supplier Performance Engineer
About this role
Senior Supplier Performance Engineer at Westinghouse overseeing supplier compliance, quality, and performance for nuclear energy products. Manage supplier oversight plans, coordinate cross-functional activities with Supply Chain and Design Engineering, and drive supplier development to meet nuclear technical and quality requirements.
Responsibilities
- —Develop and implement Supplier Oversight Plans to guide critical document submittals, manufacturing activities, surveillance points, inspections, and tests
- —Coordinate activities across Westinghouse functions (Supply Chain, Design Engineering, Supplier Quality Oversight) to drive supplier performance
- —Identify and escalate supplier issues, risks, and quality events; coordinate resolution and corrective action implementation
- —Monitor supplier performance metrics (On-Time Delivery, Quality issues, Deviation Notices); implement causal analysis and Supplier Improvement Plans
- —Evaluate procurement risk and develop security of supply risk mitigation plans
- —Oversee internal and external corrective action requests; perform cause analyses and verify completion
- —Perform technical evaluations of suppliers to assess manufacturing capability, capacity, process controls, and compliance with applicable nuclear regulations and standards
- —Identify capability gaps and establish development plans to align supplier capabilities with Westinghouse requirements
- —Lead supplier development, qualification, and improvement projects for nuclear products and cost reduction efforts
- —Review and disposition supplier process documents, process capability analyses, and measurement system analyses
- —Collaborate with Design Engineering on drawing clarity, manufacturing feasibility, and supplier communication
- —Support implementation of Value Analysis, Design for Assembly, and Design for Manufacturing principles
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in engineering
- —4+ years of progressive experience in engineering/manufacturing
- —Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, forming, mechanical assembly, NDE, inspection, and testing
- —Experience performing process capability analysis (Cpk) and qualification
- —Working knowledge of Manufacturing and Quality Plans, PFMEAs
- —Experience leading multiple concurrent projects
- —Experience authoring technical documents or operating procedures
- —Ability to read drawings and specifications made to ASME standards
