Senior Reactor Operator
About this role
Constellation is recruiting Initial License Trainees to become licensed Senior Reactor Operators at Peach Bottom Generating Station (BWR facility) in Delta, PA. You will complete comprehensive NRC-approved training to earn your SRO license, then supervise licensed reactor operators and equipment operators in the control room during shift operations.
Responsibilities
- —Attend and complete Initial License Training (ILT) including classroom instruction, NRC examination preparation, on-the-job training, and simulator/operational evaluations
- —Successfully pass all NRC licensing examination requirements to obtain SRO license
- —Perform Operations Shift Supervisor duties post-licensing, including control room oversight and regulatory compliance
- —Supervise licensed Reactor Operators, Equipment Operators, and bargaining unit staff during normal and emergency operations
- —Respond to plant emergencies, support refueling outages, and execute management-directed operational assignments
- —Maintain NRC compliance documentation and support facility safety objectives
Qualifications
- —High school diploma or GED
- —One of the following experience paths: (1) 1 year current Reactor Operator license at comparable BWR/PWR facility; (2) 1.5 years RO experience at non-comparable reactor type; (3) 1.5+ years military nuclear reactor operations (Power Plant Watch Engineer or equivalent) with 1.5 years post-qualification; (4) 4-year engineering/physical sciences degree plus 1.5+ years as qualified non-licensed operator or in reactor operations, engineering, maintenance, radiation protection, or chemistry at comparable facility; or (5) Current/former SRO Instructor certification with 4 years comparable or 6 years non-comparable facility experience
- —Maintain NRC required access level (minimum unescorted access)
- —Pass medical examination and fitness-for-duty testing per NRC standards
Desired
- —Professional Engineer (PE) license
- —Prior SRO training or instructor experience
Location
Peach Bottom Generating Station, Delta, PA. Shift-based operations schedule including nights, weekends, and extended hours. Overtime compensation at 1.5x base salary for hours beyond standard shift. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.
