Senior Reactor Operator
About this role
Constellation is hiring Initial License Trainees to become NRC-licensed Senior Reactor Operators (SRO) at Limerick Generating Station (BWR). You'll complete comprehensive classroom and on-the-job training leading to NRC SRO licensure, then supervise licensed reactor operators and equipment operators in the control room during shift operations.
Responsibilities
- —Complete Initial License Training (ILT) including classroom instruction, NRC examination prep, on-the-job training, and performance evaluation
- —Obtain and maintain NRC Senior Reactor Operator license
- —Serve as Operations Shift Supervisor: supervise licensed reactor operators and equipment operators during control room shifts
- —Directly manage bargaining unit personnel and ensure compliance with technical specifications and operating procedures
- —Support emergency response drills, outage activities, and departmental staffing needs as assigned
Qualifications
- —High school diploma or GED
- —One of the following pathways: (1) ≥1 year RO license at comparable facility (PWR-to-PWR or BWR-to-BWR); (2) ≥1.5 years RO license at non-comparable facility type; (3) ≥1.5 years as Power Plant Watch Engineer, Engineering Watch Supervisor, or Reactor Operator in U.S. Navy/military reactor program; (4) 4-year degree (engineering, engineering technology, or physical sciences) + ≥1.5 years as qualified non-licensed operator in operations, engineering, maintenance, radiation protection, chemistry, or training at comparable facility; or (5) Current SRO Instructor certification with ≥4 years at comparable facility or ≥6 years at non-comparable facility
- —Maintain minimum or unescorted site access badge eligibility (background check, security clearance)
- —Pass medical evaluation per NRC and position safety requirements
Location
Limerick Generating Station, Pottstown, PA. Shift-based operations with mandatory extended-hours coverage; extended shift premium paid at 1.5× base salary.
