Senior Mechanical Engineer - Remote
About this role
Senior Mechanical Engineer supporting Westinghouse nuclear energy solutions. Lead design, analysis, and evaluation of mechanical systems for operating nuclear power plants and new projects including AP1000 and eVinci reactors. Work with multi-disciplinary teams on ASME Section III code compliance, system design, and technical challenges across the nuclear industry.
Responsibilities
- —Develop calculations and reports documenting design and analysis results per ASME Section III code requirements and international codes
- —Design, analyze, and evaluate mechanical systems using engineering software alongside multi-discipline teams
- —Apply engineering principles and codes & standards (ASME, ANSI) to system design, analysis, and evaluation
- —Resolve technical issues for operating nuclear power plants, new plants (AP1000, eVinci), and other nuclear projects including fuel fabrication facilities
- —Interface and collaborate with engineers in electrical and civil/structural disciplines
- —Participate on project teams with internal and external representation
- —Present technical materials and justify services and product designs in customer and vendor meetings
Qualifications
- —Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
- —Engineering in Training (EIT) license
- —5 to 10 years of engineering experience
Desired
- —Professional Engineer (PE) license
- —Power industry experience (e.g., nuclear power plant operation or design)
