About this role
Senior Mechanical Engineer providing advanced technical expertise in support of nuclear plant operations. You'll act as a subject matter expert and technical resource, responsible for engineering analysis, problem-solving, and technical leadership on programs impacting site operations.
Responsibilities
- —Provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs
- —Provide technical expertise and consultation as a subject matter expert to identify and resolve equipment and system problems
- —Fulfill engineering and technical leadership accountability for short-term and long-term programs impacting site operations
- —Perform engineering tasks applying engineering principles and ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work
- —Ensure proper configuration management and application of standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes
- —Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of technical projects and programs
- —Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, correct design flaws, or comply with regulatory changes
- —Support emergency response, outage activities, and other assignments as directed by management
Qualifications
- —Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Nuclear)
- —5 years of nuclear experience or related engineering experience
- —Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable
- —Favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
- —Detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations
Desired
- —Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- —Design Engineering experience
- —Knowledge of regulatory environment
- —Professional Engineer Registration
