Senior IC&E Technician
About this role
Senior IC&E Technician (Level III) maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems at a nuclear/power generation facility in Pittsburg, CA. 2–3 month contract with possibility for extension.
Responsibilities
- —Maintain and troubleshoot plant electrical systems (generators, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers)
- —Support instrumentation and control systems including valves, transmitters, and field devices
- —Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and turbine control systems
- —Perform advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis for electrical and control failures
- —Implement preventive and corrective maintenance per OEM and plant requirements
- —Manage work orders and document activities using CMMS systems
- —Read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical documentation
- —Serve as technical lead, mentoring junior technicians
- —Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- —High School Diploma or technical/vocational degree (or equivalent experience)
- —5+ years IC&E experience in power plant or heavy industrial environment
- —Strong electrical troubleshooting background
- —Experience with DCS systems (monitoring, troubleshooting, configuration/programming)
- —Experience with gas or steam turbine control systems
- —Experience with switchgear, generators, transformers, and protective relays
- —Knowledge of electrical theory, instrumentation, and control systems
- —Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P&IDs
- —Valid driver's license
Location
Pittsburg, CA; onsite; 2–3 month contract with possibility for extension
