Senior Facilities Engineer
About this role
Senior Facilities Engineer at Westinghouse's Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility (CFFF), a nuclear fuel manufacturing site. You'll lead technical problem-solving, manage capital and operational projects, and serve as a key on-site engineering presence, working across mechanical systems, safety-critical equipment, and NRC-regulated operations.
Responsibilities
- —Resolve technical issues for Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility and support capital and expense projects
- —Work with multi-discipline engineering teams in design, analysis, and evaluation of systems using engineering software
- —Apply engineering principles and codes (ASME, ANSI, API) to design, analysis, and evaluation of systems
- —Develop calculations and reports documenting design and analysis results per ASME Section VIII, IX, and X code requirements and facility standards
- —Conduct field walkdowns and provide construction oversight services
- —Support factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, and startup/commissioning services
- —Apply procurement engineering and part optimization techniques to projects
- —Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing equipment
- —Collaborate with electrical/I&C and civil/structural engineers
- —Participate in project teams with internal and external representation
- —Present technical materials and design justification in customer and vendor meetings
- —Perform work within established scope, budget, and schedule requirements
- —Occasionally assist with emergent issues and after-hours calls
Qualifications
- —5+ years of experience in an engineering design role
- —Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
- —Familiarity with power industry, manufacturing, chemical plant, or instrumentation & controls and automation systems
- —Familiarity with ASME Section VIII and ASME B31.3 criteria
- —Technical leadership capability
- —Understanding of and ability to interpret applicable NRC and OSHA standards and regulations
Desired
- —Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (preferred over other disciplines)
Location
On-site at Columbia, Washington location, 5 days per week with optional 9/80 schedule. No relocation provided.
