Responsibilities
- Design and develop nuclear facility infrastructure projects, ensuring safety and efficiency per nuclear standards
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and verify compliance with design specifications
- Evaluate structural systems including steel members, reinforced concrete, and composite steel for nuclear applications
- Resolve technical issues for building structure design, fabrication, assembly, and construction phases
- Provide technical justification for design changes and emergent issues; troubleshoot problems
- Provide on-site support at utilities and nuclear project sites
- Use ANSYS, LS-DYNA, and GTSTRUDL for structural analysis of nuclear structures
- Maintain software compliance records and track engineering corrective actions
- Apply industry civil/structural codes and standards (ACI, AISC, ASCE, AWS) relevant to nuclear facilities
- Create sketches and markups using AutoCAD or similar CAD tools
- Document design change proposals, revisions, and generate engineering drawings
