Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field; 8+ years of operations, RSPP, or safety experience in manufacturing/workshop environments; experience leading safety programs; execution leadership experience; cross-functional coordination skills; intermediate English competency (B1 level)
About this role
Lead health and safety operations at Westinghouse's Monfalcone, Italy nuclear manufacturing facility. Define and enforce safety procedures compliant with Italian law and Westinghouse standards, oversee a team of safety engineers, and drive continuous safety improvement across the plant.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct leadership to safety engineers team to ensure rules are clear, understood, and regularly updated
- Perform daily shop floor walkdowns to verify safety rule compliance
- Provide safety guidance to on-site leaders and managers
- Collect and evaluate safety improvement suggestions from workers and supervisors
- Serve as primary connection point between site and corporate functions for health and safety matters
- Represent the Italian legal entity before Italian regulatory authorities
- Review investments and contracts for compliance with applicable safety procedures
- Maintain and update emergency and safety procedures; ensure workforce training
- Ensure safety and emergency-related appointments are clearly identified and staffed
