Rx Services Technician
About this role
Reactor Services Technician at Constellation responsible for safe and efficient reactor disassembly, maintenance, reassembly, fuel handling, and spent fuel operations during nuclear facility outages. Execute NRC-compliant work on reactor vessel services, in-vessel activities, spent fuel pool operations, and dry fuel storage. Maintain rigorous safety and human performance standards.
Responsibilities
- —Perform reactor disassembly, maintenance, reassembly, fuel handling, spent fuel work, and dry fuel storage in accordance with approved procedures and NRC regulations
- —Conduct inspection, maintenance, and operation of equipment used to service the reactor vessel and perform activities in the reactor core and spent fuel pool
- —Execute fuel handling functions including unloading/reloading reactor cores, handling new fuel, fuel channeling, fuel sipping, and dry fuel storage operations
- —Perform inspections and maintenance of reactor internals, in-vessel services, fuel pool cleanout activities, and refueling floor and fuel building operations
- —Participate in pre-job briefings and reinforce safety and human performance standards across the team
- —Review work packages and walk-down clearances according to approved procedures
- —Document all work performed in work packages and participate in corrective action activities
- —Communicate significant plant and personnel issues to Reactor Services Management
- —Support continuous improvement through participation in training and provision of feedback to supervision
Qualifications
High School Diploma AND 2 years of Reactor Services or related power plant experience, OR Associate Degree/Equivalent in Engineering Technology. Demonstrated competence, knowledge, and understanding of basic principles in the Reactor Services field. Ability to maintain unescorted access to nuclear facilities.
Desired
5 or more years of previous experience in Outage Services Refueling activities.
Location
Onsite at nuclear facility; shift work during scheduled outages; unescorted facility access required.
