Required qualifications

BS Degree in engineering or equivalent technical qualification; 8+ years of quality assurance experience in positions of increasing responsibility; broad knowledge of quality assurance regulations, codes and standards; knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, fabrication, and testing; ability to travel internationally as projects require (up to ±25% during peak times)

About this role

Lead quality assurance strategy for Westinghouse's AP1000® nuclear projects. Guide large-scale initiatives from proposal through delivery, ensuring nuclear safety, compliance, and performance standards while building and developing a team of QA professionals across the full project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with APX Delivery project teams to embed quality throughout the full project lifecycle, from bid and proposal development through execution
  • Prepare QEHS inputs for proposals and lead AP1000 quality assurance programs across all project phases
  • Design and implement project-specific quality staffing strategies and oversee delivery of critical products and services
  • Build and grow a team of QA engineers, ensuring they implement the Westinghouse Quality Management System and lead quality assurance activities
  • Serve as Project Quality Lead for early AP1000® project phases, participating in design reviews and leading internal audits, surveillances, and self-assessments
  • Develop quality and EHS cost estimates for bids and proposals, and manage project risks
  • Develop and manage the annual department budget with alignment to financial targets
  • Ensure compliance with the Westinghouse Quality Management System during project development and execution
  • Lead organizational improvement programs including the Corrective Action Program, Human Performance Program, and training initiatives
  • Champion nuclear safety culture and foster a Safety-Conscious Work Environment across all activities
  • Promote safe, error-free performance through active application of Human Performance tools
  • Provide rigorous programmatic oversight to ensure quality and compliance standards are met
  • Identify, recommend, and implement solutions to quality issues with corrective and preventive actions

Preferred qualifications

ASQ CMQ/OE certification; ISO/NQA-1 Certified Lead Auditor; working knowledge of U.S. commercial nuclear power regulations (10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, ASME B&PV Code, ANSI, 10 CFR 21); knowledge of comparable international regulations and standards (ISO 9001, ISO 19443); experience in application of Nuclear Safety Culture and Human Performance principles

Location, schedule, and travel

Hybrid (2 days per week onsite) at Cranberry Township, PA or Rock Hill, SC; up to 25% international travel during peak project phases
